Roleplay Guide
Guidelines and tips for creating engaging roleplay experiences in Rogue Pleasures.
The Foundation: Consent
Consent and communication are the keys to good RP. Be sure to observe the consent of other players. The goal should be fun for everyone involved. The only "winning" in good RP is when everyone is having fun.
Always check character sheets! If you want to take an action not covered by the sheet, ask first!
You should be concerned with the fun of those you're playing with as much as or more than your own.
Regarding Erotic or Kink Roleplay
Consent comes first. While it's acceptable to roleplay scenarios including non-consent or other extreme actions, remember that OOC Consent is vital and required! If either player is uncomfortable, stop and talk it out.
Remember: This is a Game
While emotions can get heated, especially in confrontational, competitive, or sexual situations, always remember this is a game. Everyone is here for fun. These are fictional characters involved in fictional situations. They aren't real people. Their belongings aren't real. The only thing that's real are the people on the other side of the screen. Make sure everyone's having a good time.
Collaborative Storytelling
You Go, I Go
In a word, good roleplay means collaboration. Make room for other players to respond and react, and don't write emotes that dictate the responses of others. Give the spotlight away to let others have a chance to shine!
The "Yes, and..." Rule
Try to go with the flow and not to put any hard stops on RP unless it violates someone's consent, including your own.
Play to Lose or Play to Fun
This means going for interesting outcomes. Losing a fight or bet can be more interesting than winning. Don't risk an outcome you are not willing to accept!
If you feel someone isn't playing fair, then talk it out with them.
Chat Functions
- Keep the Local Channel to in-character (IC) only. You should be IC almost all the time in Local!
- The Global Channel is for OOC chat. Never use this channel for IC interactions.
- If you need to say something out of character (OOC) in Local, be sure to use (( )) around your message.
- Abbreviations, emoticons, etc. should never be used within the Local Channel.
Lore and Character Development
Characters and situations should be built based on Conan lore. We highly recommend joining the Conan Lore Archive discord and doing a quick search for the concept you're looking to explore.

Characters should be a product of the world and environment. This includes not just their appearance, but also their names, skills and mindsets.
The Exiles Lands and even Hyboria are harsh places. Due to this, characters tend to be skeptical, careful, morally gray or superstitious.
THE GOLDEN RP RULE: When everyone's having fun, EVERYONE'S HAVING FUN!
